It reveals the mythological content and genetic relationships in other Indo-European mythopoetic traditions.

Keywords: ethno-cultural parallels, the Balkans, the Volga Region, Caucasus, folklore, burial facilities The article deals with the ethno-cultural parallels between the Volga Region and the Balkan-Caucasian territories. The folk materials (part of which was collected by the author) reveal the ethno-cultural contacts and parallels among Bulgars, Chuvashes, Balkars, Ossetians / Alans, etc., in early and late medieval times, as well as in the late folk tradition. The analysis of the rite components reveals their old Indo-Iranian and Indo-European character and origin.

Keywords: ritual text, folklore and ethnographic traditions, work songs, ritual dance, ritual, ceremonial imaging of the deceased The article states that the ritual life of the North Caucasian peoples, belonging to different language families, has much in common in religious ideas about objects and natural phenomena. There is folklore and ethnographic convergence of genetic, typological and contact kinds, studying of which is important for understanding and identifying the spirit and essential characteristics of the formation of «indivisible cultural world» in the North Caucasus.

The legacy of the scientist, whose individuality is not yet known completely, does not lose its actuality and importance in the academic spheres up to nowadays.

Keywords: Russian Empire’s political history, North Caucasus, management organization specificities, social views of the Russian administrators/ In the article on the example of the state-administrative activities of an individual person – Alexander Nurid – the specificities of the Russian Empire’s management of the North-Caucasian territories in the second half of the 19th century are considered. The activity of A. Nurid as a chief of the Ingush and then Kabardian districts of the Tersky region is connected with the implementation of significant transformations in the social life of the population of these territories. The person of A. Nurid is also remarkable due to the fact that while holding these posts he has clearly shown his civic position concerning the mountaineers, which in general was characterized by the humanistic spirit.
